It's so wonderful to wake up to cute little noises and coos that we hear in the room next to us (of course Andrew's room). I think about getting up, what needs to be done for the day and just when I am about ready to hop out of bed and get to it, I see the alarm clock, what?? only 1:00 am! Why oh why is that cute little boy playing at this time of the morning??? For the past few days Andrew has had great playtime in the middle of the night. To our amazement he even turned on his crib music. When we ventured into the room to see how this was possible we found his feet kicking the music machine and his head under the blanket, just a little turned around. It is very sweet to hear this, however it would be even sweeter if it was somewhere around the 5am hour.

A fun weekend

Andrew is steadily growing and surprising us daily. He has been sleeping through the night for an entire week now, yippeee! Nelson and I feel great (well Nelson was sick with a cold, but I felt great). We went for a day of shopping on Saturday and Andrew loved to people watch.

Andrew is really trying to crawl, however most times his face is pushed into the floor and his back end is raised up.
He loves to sit up.

Vacation extended

We have been on vacation visiting family in Mississippi and Louisiana. We were supposed to already be on our way home but the plane was so delayed that we would have missed our connecting flight. So, our vacation has been extended an extra half a day, yippeeee. Andrew has grown lots since we left. After his sickness he has been playing "catch up" and eating about every two hours. He is also very interactive and talking bunches. Will update more pictures when we get back home.

Andrew and I spent the morning in the park. He enjoyed laying out and playing while I enjoyed a cup of Starbucks

Andrew is now ready for his first big trip on the airplane. We got this new stroller and he just is barely big enough for it. Mississippi and Louisiana....here we come (well, in a few days:))

Sorry for the blogging hiatus. A lot has been going on here in Ames. We have both been really busy with work and keeping everything in order at home. Andrew and I had quite an adventure this week, not one that I would want again. We were coming home from daycare when the tornado sirens went off. If you don't know this, I am SCARED of bad weather. So, I called Nelson and he said that there wasn't anything on the news. However, there was a train and I certainly wasn't about to get taken out by a tornado sitting at a train. So, I pulled in to Dollar General where I could barely see, the wind had picked up so much dirt. Once inside I felt better however the building didn't look that sturdy, not very many people were worried. Then, Andrew spit up all over the floor, of course I had left all supplies in the car. Well, the siren stopped and we went back to the car and started again on the way home. Well, the siren started again, this time the sky looked bad and it was really windy. Apparently Iowans are not that concerned about tornados as everyone seemed to be going 5 mph. I was scared. It started looking worse and worse and I made the decision to pull into the hospital (what a perfect place to be). Anyway, I ripped in there, yanked Andrew out of his seat. There were huge wind gusts that seemed to almost blow me away. Poor Nelson was still at the house waiting for me and my phone wouldn't work. Needless to say I eventually made it home (usually only a four minute drive, turned 45 minutes). There was a tornado, but no damage, from what I heard. Andrew's first bad weather experience and all he could do was smile, what a baby!

On another note...Andrew is doing great. He is now 12 weeks old and surprises us everyday with new things that he does. This week he made funny noises with his mouth, I can't even begin to describe them.

Mom, I am too hungry to worry about putting those clothes on, just FEED ME!

What a week! Andrew had his first sickness on Sunday and Monday and

he is now feeling better. However his parents are still recovering from a few days without sleep. He also seems to have reverted to getting up at night every three hours....oh how I wish for those five hour stretches.
